Motivation Behind Body After Baby

We’re in the middle of week two of the Body After Baby challenge. Three days behinds us and only three more to go until the start of another new week! Another new week to lose a pound or two, another new week to strive for our goals. How are we all doing? I’ve been reading all of your updates, and you all have such great goals! 

Molly has been avoiding sugar and she’s lost three pounds so far this week! I’m so motivated by that! Stacy is doing the 30 day shred which I’ve heard great things about. I’m anxious to see her progress with it! Alexis‘ goal is to be the weight she was in high school. Me too,  girl! Oh how I’d love to get that cheerleading skirt over my thigh’s…. 
Exercise is a big motivator and influence in our goals to lose weight, but it’s important to remember that exercising isn’t just about losing weight or looking a certain way. I know way too many times I have a mindset that I only exercise so I can lose weight, but it’s about so much more than that! The benefits of exercise go way beyond body appearance. 
Exercising can improve your life in numerous ways. It’s proven to: 
  • Reduce stress
  • Improve quality of sleep 
  • Increase mood
  • Increases energy 
  • Strengthen your heart
  • Increase life span
  • Lower cholesterol
  • Increase self esteem 
  • Reduce depression
  • Enhances immune system 
  • Improve posture
  • Strengthen your lungs
Need I go on? Keep those things in mind this week, and remember that your motivation behind Body After Baby doesn’t have to be just about losing weight.

  1. Hey Samantha! I'm happy to say that I'm meeting my goals for the week! Did a 1-hour walk with my walking buddy on Monday and we're planning on going tonight if the rain ends like it's supposed to and that will complete my exercise goal for the week. My other goal for the week was to make sure I drink at least 32 ounces of water. Didn't quite get to 32 ounces on Monday but Tuesday & Wednesday both I hit 48 ounces (thanks to a new 24 oz water bottle). 24 ounces down for today….that only leaves Friday – Sunday! Don't know if I'll see any response on the scale but I feel good having met these goals this week.

  2. I’m doing pretty good, too. Worked out Tuesday and Wednesday, and about to get started again.

    I read something that might be helpful to other people doing this. If you drink a full glass of water about ten or fifteen minutes before you eat a meal, it will help you eat less and digest your food better. I’m going to try it. Hope it works!

    And just maybe it will help get rid of these evil pimples (thank you, pregnancy). This is a whole body plan, right?

    I agree Adam….from American Idol I just don’t get. I think he is more a broadway kinda guy! Lets hope America picks Kris…..very “ALL AMERICAN”…..

  4. I have to say, on the days that I have walked during my pregnancy, I feel SO much better! It has really been key for me to be active!!! Not for losing weight, of course, but it’s great for me and the baby!

  5. I stopped walking during my pregnancy. After, it has been so hard to take off the weight and my stomach muscles seem to need so much work now. I am doing the plank pilates move and I actually see a little bit of a change.

  6. Jess- I’m glad you’re walking. I swear it helped me during labor and even helped me deliver a day early!
    Dazzled by Diapers- those plank moves are Killer! I can barley do 30 seconds. I should do those more…
    Stevens clans- nice job on meeting your goals!
    Alexis- Yes, water is good for EVERYTHING!
