Easy & Nutritious Snacks for You & Your Toddler

As mom’s, we’re often short on time. Making elaborate nutritious meals and snacks isn’t always easy and on the top of our to-do-list. If you have snacks in the fridge already prepared and ready to go, you and your kids are more likely to eat them instead of running to the supermarket to grab a bag of cookies ’cause you’re just so hungry!
For those of us (aren’t we all?!) working on our Body After Baby , these meals are also wonderful! They’re easy, tasty, nutritious, and low in calories.
Here are a  few of my favorite kid friendly/weight friendly snacks.
-Hummus and crackers or veggies
–  String Cheese
– Celery with peanut butter ( add raisins for ” ant’s on a log.”)

– Trail mix (granola, peanuts, raisins, dried fruit, etc)
– Yogurt
– Rice cakes
– Fruit smoothies
– Egg whites
What do your kids love?

  1. Levi loves whole grain triscuits with chunky tomato salsa. If it’s spicy he wants it! He also loves chopped up frozen strawberries.

  2. My boys LOVE apple cinnamon rice cakes topped with peanut butter (or soy pb) and raisins! Give it a try it’s great. I also gave them soybeans for the first time right out of the pods. They loved opening up the pods and loved the color and flavor.

  3. Matty likes milk. I hear that’s pretty good for him at his age. Ha! Hopefully he’ll inherit his mommy’s love for fruit, fruit, fruit, and Reduced Fat Wheat Thins.

I was going through the archives and I saw in your first post that you have a personal blog. Are you still keeping up with that one? Just wondering…

  4. I cut flour tortillas into triangles, like a pie, sprinkle with cinnamon and bake until crisp. The kids then dip these chips into applesauce and eat. They love this snack!

  5. yum, those are all great ideas!

Alexis- About my personal blog.. not really- I mainly just put pictures up of Lucas for my family to see. 🙂

  6. My oldest loves pepperonis. Raisins are always a hit, as well as nuts. Baby carrots, pickles, apples with honey or peanut butter, dairy free dark chocolate… anything wholesome and delicious.
