A Sleeping Babe

Do you ever watch your baby sleep?
Just watch them dream.
A perfect body.
So sweet and adorable.
Every perfect breath .
Nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby.
I think I say this every week, but this time I really really mean it. I have the best readers. I just love ya’ll! I write a post about how I’m exhausted and burnt and worn out and I come home to find 20 + comments of thoughtful, sweet, helpful words. Not words but sentences and paragraphs. You guys know how to write! I want to say thank you. To all of you who leave comments big or small, you’re not only a blessing to me, but a blessing to all the other moms who read them because I know I’m not the only one with lack of sleep!

I have such an awesome update to share with you! I don’t know if it was timing or simply an answer to my cry for help, but the last 5 nights Lucas has been only waking up one time! He has been sleeping from 7:30 – 3:00ish and waking up, but I’m not feeding him. I have just been giving him his pacifier, rubbing his belly, and letting him cry a little. Then he wakes up at 5 or 6 am and I do feed him then. I figure 10 hours is pretty good! This is huge progress. I don’t know if I was hallucinating, but I think the other night he even went from 7:30pm-5:00am!

Can I get a Hallelujah!

  1. Hallelujah! Now, if I can only get my kid to do something similar… I'm so THRILLED for you! I know how hard it is to not get a decent night's sleep. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. That is so great to hear! When my son was around 6 months he began waking up at night again (I was really lucky because he began sleeping through the night at about 8 weeks of age, that is until 6 months). I fed him for a little while at night but knew this was probably not the best strategy. We began going in, turning on some music, and giving him back his pacifier. He would cry some, we went back in about every 10 minutes to reassure him until he did fall asleep. This worked great for us and sounds like it is working well for you too!!

  3. How cute! I always watch my little one sleep, she is always smiling and making the funniest faces, it's so adorable. I wonder what she dreams about though! She started sleeping through the night at about 2 months, we are so lucky!

  4. Awe! I love the pictures! And I am so excited for you that he has started sleeping more.. I know I felt horrible I wasn't getting enough sleep at night from the baby waking up! Hope you begin to get more sleep!

  5. Thank you so much for your comment! That is exactly what I needed to hear. Sometimes it's hard to remember the bigger picture…God has a plan for me!

I LOVE your sweet pictures ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. that is such great news!!!! He looks adorable sleeping in all of those photos – I absolutely LOVE to look at pictures of sleeping babies. No matter what they do during the day (this includes toddlers too – lol!), when I stand over them at night and watch them sleep so peacefully, I can forget about anything they did that I wasn't happy about. It just reminds me of how sweet and innocent they are (even when they don't listen and I know they aren't just to push the limits). Enjoy the extra zzzz's!

  7. I STILL watch my babies sleep and the youngest is nearly 4! Well, not so much my oldest. After all she is an adult now and likes her privacy. lol Can't believe I have an adult child already. *sigh*
