You know you’re a mom when…..
…Spit-up has completely phased you. You have learned to rub it in to your clothes if needed.
…You’re away from your baby for less than an hour and you miss him the entire time.
…You see poop, like GOOD poop in your child’s diaper and you dance the happy dance. You might event take a picture with it on your phone and send it to your husband, family or friends.
…You can easily take hundreds of pictures at one event.
…For your birthday you ask for diapers and a car seat.
….You are able to live off of 6 hours of very interrupted sleep.
…Your baby spits up on your sheets but you’re too tired to clean it up so you just rub it in. Which means your sleeping on old milk. But hey- at least you’re sleeping!
…While changing your sons diaper over your leg (don’t ask why that would make any sense at all) you realize mid change that this is a bowl movement type of diaper and you hear yourself say to the dog, “Don’t eat that! Sit. Hold on I need to pick that up!” Really, that’s quite gross.
…You go on a “quick” errand while your husband is at home watching the baby, and you take the long way home so you can turn up the volume to your favorite songs for a few extra minutes.
…And when you are in the car by yourself you forget so, and find yourself listening to the baby classical music for far too long.
…You are somehow functioning at 7:00am when your child is ready to get up for the day.
…Your heart explodes every single day.
You know you’re a mom when you plan your life around one tiny person. And you wouldn’t have it any other way.
You know you’re a mom when… what are your moments? I know there are so many!
LOVE the new header! super cute!
These are great… I found myself nodding in agreement at almost every one! there are soooo many… but you definitely know you're a mom when 10 minutes in a hot shower is so rare that you feel like you've been to the spa 🙂
You know you're a mom when a night of uninterrupted sleep means you are stumbling to the crib in a panic the next morning, convinced that something terrible has happened to the baby.
LOL this is so true! I ahve had experience with each one of these! Too cute!

Super cute new layout! You know you're a mom when you can sing the theme songs to every cartoon your child watches and find yourself telling him on occasion that “we've already seen this episode!”
You buy a car based on how much baby gear you can fit into it…
You know the location of every changing station at the mall…
You check every room for possible baby dangers, even if your child isn't with you…
Great post mama! I think you know you're a mom when you turn on the Disney channel in the absence of children!
Very true! This is the life of a Mom- Once a Mom, always a Mom!
You know you are a mom when you are grateful that the nap lasted an hour, but after two start wondering when they are going to wake-up so you can start snuggling and playing again.
Great post!
you know you're a mom when the barf comes flying at you, and instead of dodging, you just hold the plate with your sandwich out of the splat zone. Then, you pat your kid on the back with one hand, and take another bite of the sandwich, holding it with the other hand, before getting up out of the pool of barf.
You know you're a mom when:
You are in the car for one of those VERY RARE moments alone, and you look in the mirror, see the empty car seat in back, and totally PANIC, thinking, “Where is my baby!!”
YES! I have also done all of these! How funny 🙂
I agree with each and every one of those. For me I knew I was a Mom when my kids were older and I put them to bed and stayed up all night on my own just to get the place clean and that thrilled me more than anything else.
How fun, I totally agree. I have done many of those things more than once!
lol…when the sound of the babys swing puts *me* to sleep…and when you wonder out loud to yourself if its time to change the dog's diaper.
All you wrote is true. I won't trade it for anything.
My little girl's only 7 weeks old and I can relate to most of these too LOL.
Love the new look!
That is so true! Great article.
This is silly, but when our 1st was about 3 months old we took him to see my brother in TN and when we were out shopping I ran into barnes and noble really quickly and started crying looking at board books because I realized I had a son of my own to buy books for!!!
You know you're a mom when…
…you look for shirts with “easy access”
…you've learned how to do just about anything while breastfeeding (including changing a diaper)
…you can type almost as well with one hand as you can with two
…a sleepy sigh can melt your heart just as easily as a peal of laughter
These were great!
You know you are a mom when despite all the sleepless nights, crying, fighting, biting, absence of sharing, fighting kids to get in bed, forcing them to eat veggies, threats that seem to come up empty way too often, not hearing anything your husband says b/c you've learned to ignore noise so well… you can't wait to have more children.
Hee hee…I would've been so grossed out before kids with this post!!
You know you're a mom when you find yourself grabbing your chest in public because you forget other people don't understand that you're checking whether or not you are “full”. =)
hey, you know your a mum when suddenly you have to share your food with your beautiful toddler!
“You know you're a mom when you reach into your purse and find a bag of cheerios”
you know you are a mom of boys when you yell out “look at that awesome fire truck” and then realize you are on a girls night out, no one cares and you still think it is cool.
Love this post!!
All this just happened in an afternoon, right?
i love it! and your baby's so cute!
i love it! and your baby's so cute!
oh lord, this just reminded me of how I walked all the way though the airport and made it half way through the flight without realizing I had spit up on my shirt, lovely.
…and I know I am a mom because while playing video games with the family tonight I let BOTH legs fall asleep for HOURS because I didn't want to wake my snoozing baby (in my lap)
I just did the running errands without the baby thing and when I was in the car, I blasted some old punk music I used to listen to when I was 19. It was SO MUCH FUN, and then I realized how lame that was…This post totally made me laugh 🙂
Great post!!
You know you are a mom when you scream in happiness over the appearance of one tiny tooth.
When you decide on which restraunt to go to based on the children's menu selections!
Wow! I can relate to so many of those things you posted! Yes, you know you are a mom when you realize that you smell like old milk, and then you just say, “Oh well,” and keep on with your day. I seriously did this 2 days ago.
You know you're a mom when you feed your baby only locally grown, pure, organic veggies, steamed and pureed at home while you sit down to a bowl of spaghetti-o's or top ramen. Not that I ever do this 😉
BTW, I love your blog and you son is so adorable, but I must say one thing: GO COUGS!
