Happy New Year!

source: shakesfrozencustard.com — doesn’t it look delicious?!

Here are two thousand and ten things I want to accomplish this year.

1. Buy a house.
2. Decorate it.
3. Live in it.
4. Find a gym.
5. Exercise in it often.
6. Sponsor a child through Compassion.
7. Spend more time reading.
8. Cook dinner more often.
9. Finish my book.
10. Be 100% debt free.

10-2000. Be a better mom and wife.

2001. Run a half marathon
2002. Learn how to ice skate again or perhaps ice hockey (??)
2003. Have people over for dinner and fellowship once a week.
2004. Get pregnant
2005. Learn how to bake.
2006. Finish Lucas’ 1st year scrapbook.
2007. Have 3 months worth of living in the savings account
2008. Get certified in personal training.
2009. Be happy and positive through everything.
2010. Complain less.

What do you want to accomplish this year?

Have a safe and fun night tonight! Are you doing anything fun? I will be traveling. Yes, it’s probably the best idea I’ve had all year.

Throw some confetti in the air for me!

  1. Lovely! These sound like fantastic goals. Baking is so much fun… once you start, you won't want to stop which might lead to you needing to visit that gym often. hehe

    Thanks for linking up. 🙂

  2. My major goal for this year is to reach a healthy weight and save enough up in the bank to cover at least two months worth of bills (plus a bit extra).
Hubby's been laid off TOOO much in the last two years.

  3. If you have ANY questions about Compassion, please let me know. I am such a HUGE fan of theirs… a few years ago (before marriage and babies) I actually quit my job and moved halfway across the country to work at their headquarters for a year. I've seen their work in person in four countries on two different continents. It is absolutely 100% a WORTHY, LIFE-CHANGING investment.

ok, off the soapbox now. Just wanted to encourage you in that particular goal 🙂

  4. I don't like to make resolutions that can't be kept. I like the word you used: goals. Goals give you something to work toward, not something to try and fail.

Last year, my husband and I decided to read 1 chapter of the Bible a day and we did. We finished the entire New Testament and started the Old. We plan to continue, but also I am working on shedding the habit of complaint and giving thanks in the new year– purposefully looking for the gifts God has given me.

  5. bass family,
I'm so excited! I wil def. let you know if I have any questions. I have heard nothing but great things so I'm really looking forward to it! Is the best way to just sponsor someone through their website?

what an awesome goal! I would love to do that!

  6. Samantha, yes I think the website is the way to go… you can search for children based on all kinds of criteria… boy/girl, birthday, country, etc. When Maggie turned five, we chose a girl with a birthday very close to hers for her to “sponsor” – she's the one who writes the letters, and we chose Guatemala, in hopes that one day Maggie will be able to go there and meet her.
