If you’re joining the Body After Baby Challenge, I’m sure you’re trying to get in more exercise!
It’s true that you can lose weight without exercising, but adding exercise to your routine can help you lose weigh faster. Of course, there are many other reasons to exercise too. Here are just five reasons to consider adding more exercise to your daily routine.
1. It’s good for your health.
2. It sets a great example for your kids.
Our children are watching and observing our every move. They want to be like us. I notice this already in Lucas. Whatever I’m eating, he wants to eat. Whatever I’m holding, he wants to hold. He notices my every action. When he’s older, he’ll notice me when I exercise too. He also might notice if I’m not exercising.
Set a good example for your kids by showing them that exercise is fun and important. Instead of telling them to ride their bike around the neighborhood because they need the exercise, do it with them.
3. It makes you feel good.
I’m always amazed at how true this is. I can’t tell you how many times I have been tired, but then gone to the gym and came home with more energy. Whenever I feel tired or complain of being tired, the first thing I think of is that I haven’t exercised enough! Weird how that works, but I promise it’s true. A nap is great too, but sometimes (a lot of times) a 20 minute sweat session is just what you need.
5. It helps you lose weight and keep the weight off.
If you’re trying to lose weight or define your body, exercise is definitely a key ingredient. If you’re happy with how you are now, exercise is just as important! Exercise keeps unwanted fat away!
Have you exercised today? What is your favorite type of exercise?
Thanks for the reminder!
I love doing low impact exercise like Yoga, it's beneficial in so many ways!
I used to run a lot too but my ankles have been playing up recently.
yes! Great post! I say every mom NEEDS to fit in time for exercise as a priority, just as they need to fit in time to eat, sleep, BREATHE, etc! For all of the reasons you list and more!
My favorite type of exercise is running, I can't get enough of it!
I exercised this morning and I feel great! All I did was 25 minutes on the eliptical but its a great way to start my day! good post!
Heather, I agree! We should look at exercising as a normal part of our day, just like brushing our teeth!
Alexandra,
So glad that workout felt great 🙂
Pilates! I love it. I was so thrilled when, in 2004, I discovered the first kind of exercise I truly enjoyed. And no, I haven't exercised yet today…but naptime hasn't arrived yet, either! 😉
I love pilates and yoga…I love Yoga Booty Ballet…it's great! I don't listen to the stuff they say at the start and end that is weird meditating stuff, I just fast-forward through that stuff 🙂 But the exercise in yoga is really great and the breathing is so refreshing.
