5 Months Pregnant

I’m 5 months pregnant! The due date is still in late October- I think it will be interesting to have an October baby! Although I do LOVE Fall— then again, I don’t know if there is such thing as a Fall season in Alaska. I’m pretty sure it goes straight from summer to winter- not sure.

We had our ultrasound yesterday and the gender is unknown! We choose not to find out and now I’m super excited and anxious! I’m glad we didn’t find out, I truly am blessed with either and I’m reminding myself of that!

Here is our little babe. Look at that nose!

I still feel great. The only problem is my stomach is getting big and uncomfortable which makes me more tired and makes carrying a 26 pound toddler (yep, 26 pounds! I weighed him at my doctors appointment!) around a little difficult. I have to sit on the floor to rock him to sleep now, I just can’t stand up and hold him for long. (My plan is to buy a rocking chair before October.) ha! 🙂

I thought it would be fun to compare my pregnancies. I was actually surprised to see these pictures side by side. My body is so funny- in matter of days or hours my stomach can look completely different, depending on what I’ve ate, how much water I’ve drank and what I’m wearing. Today I’m wearing black which is a friend of mine. Have you met him? If you can find the perfect black shirt you’re really set.

Here is my 5 month belly picture. I don’t see a huge difference between these pictures- do you?

I have 5(ish) months to buy a few baby things, teach my toddler about patience and not hitting tiny people, decide if I’m going to work and when/how/where, and remember how to breastfeed a tiny newborn.

No sweat baby.

  1. Congratulations on a good u/s and profound empathy, I'm about a month ahead of you and have a 26 pound toddler who still likes a lot of holding and cuddling.

    Cute pictures!!

  2. My advice: buy Lucas a doll and use it to teach him how to behave with the baby. Emerson was born when Aidan was just 13 months old, and that helped us a lot!

  3. Looking great!! We did not find out the gender of this baby either, and I am enjoying the unknown. I almost think it is harder on other people than us. Can't believe you are already 20 weeks.

  4. You are so cute! We didn't find out what we were having with our son, and now I won't find out with any of ours. It is such an amazing surprise! It brings a whole different level of excitement to the delivery in my opinion! =)

  5. Oh this makes me think back to when I was having babies!! Thanks for the reminder! How cool to have pics to compare along the way! Have a great week!

  6. I am always happy to hear of another parent who doesn't find out the gender of their babies until birth (I'm not sure why) – Congratulations!

  7. I think I knew & probably already told you but omg you're preggo!! Congrats!! Luke's birthday is Oct. 18–its GREAT!! He was a little too small to care much about MY favorite holiday (Halloween) but perfect for all of his first's so far!! Congrats again!
