6 Month Pregnancy Rambling

I honestly don’t know how many weeks I am. I’d have to look at my calendar and do the math to figure it out and I don’t have energy for that right now. I know I’m about 6 months along- either I hit the 6 month mark last Friday or this Friday.

I’m so tired. It’s 8pm and I’m blogging then going to bed. That’s how exciting my life is. I try not to complain about my pregnancies. Usually I don’t. I feel VERY blessed to be pregnant and have easy pregnancies and I know there are so many people out there who are trying to get pregnant. So, I really don’t complain often because I truly do feel incredibly lucky and blessed.
I just have one tiny complaint. And, it would really make me feel a lot better if I could just get it out there and tell you because I know you’re a female (probably? right? I hope you are) and most likely a mom and maybe you get me.
I wish my husband would rub my feet.
I have tried to come up with it all. I’m carrying your child!! I’m growing your son or daughter in me! It doesn’t work. I get a foot rub occasionally but why can’t it be every time I ask?? I’m on my feet 8 hours a day at work, walking around, and I just need 20 minutes. That’s it! My poor pitiful feet.
I’m exhausted tonight. 98degrees is on Pandora right now (Lucas and I were dancing to NSYNC earlier- don’t judge) and just as I was about to change it, a great old school comes on and I actually feel quite relaxed.
That is how cool I am.
6 months pregnant is pretty cool. I am trying to get my house ready and am getting so excited about our new little person coming into this world. My stomach is growing (oh, you want a picture don’t you? I apologize… my camera feel in the toilet or something) and I’ve had to pull out the maternity pants. OH HOW I LOVE YOU. Maternity pants are like sweat pants- except cuter. I wear a lot of skirts for work and they are awesome.
Backstreet Boys came on Pandora so I had to switch stations. I absolutely cannot stand The Backstreet Boys. They make me want to throw up. I love the station “Selah Radio.” This is relaxing and the songs are so peaceful. Many of the songs on this station are actually just instrumental which is really nice.Β
I have a couple things I’d like to ask of you, if you would be so kind.
1. What are your favorite TV shows? I want to start watching a series on Hulu (my favorite guilty pleasure- watching a show in bed on my laptop) and I need some new ideas!

2. What is your favorite pregnancy lotion? My skin is itchy and Cocco Butter isn’t helping.

3. How many weeks pregnant are you?

4. Are you pregnant?

5. What’s your favorite station on Pandora? My current favorites this week are “Selah Radio” and “Glee.” Glee station has some really fun and upbeat songs, great for days when you’re cleaning or need to wake up in the morning.

6. Do you need a foot rub?

7. Do you think I’m a loser because I have an NSYNC station on my pandora?

8. What is your favorite style of baby swing?

9. Do you think I need to go to bed now?

10. Me too

  1. 1) I just started watching How I Met Your Mother and it's pretty funny. Overall I'm a medical drama junkie though.

    2) I used aquaphor. Didn't smell like the coco butter did and it did the trick. Otherwise I itched till I bled.

    3) 17 weeks

    4) Yes

    5) I don't use it often :-/

    6) YES, yes I do

    7) No!

    8) Um I don't know…I just got one from Target. Graco brand maybe? It was pooh bear.

  2. 1) dont really have a fav? LOL! DH and I watch Lost on Hulu to catch up… Do they show old tv shows, like Gilligan's Island or I Dream Of Jeanie? I'd love that!

    6) Yes, I DO need a foot rub! My hubs wont rub mine either, but I am lucky to have a 6,4 and 2 yr old who LOVE to rub my feet (I just discovered this a few weeks ago!) My 4 yr old (only daughter) always wants to do it!
    7) LOL! No, I still have the NSync Christmas CD even tho hubs makes fun of me. =)
    8) I loved the fold up travel swing I used with my 1st 2 kids. Small and compact and could be put away when not in use, making more room in the house!
    9) Sure, and I DEF need to go to bed. =)
    NIGHT!

  3. 1. I love Greek. We also like Spartacus: Blood and Sand. But it's pretty graphic. (cussing, HEAVY nudity, sex scenes), we watch Grounded for life, Futurama and Frasier regularly

    2. I don't use any now but I need to find a regular lotion. I don't like belly lotion because it makes my belly feel greasy and my clothes stick to my belly.

    3. I'm 20 weeks.

    4. Yes.

    5. I usually listen to Incubus, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam

    6. More like a back rub!! My husband gives me the lame excuse “women have done it for millions of years, yours is no different”

    7. Nope!! I have *Nsync and Hanson holiday stations on my Pandora!

    8. I have a cradle swing that can either go side to side or front to back and I love it!

    9. Yes! And so do I! LOL

    10. Me too

  4. I agree with marfmom! How I met your Mother is GREAT! So is The Big Bang Theory!

    2. no clue

    5. I don't currently listen to pandora =)
    6. yes!
    7. not at all!
    8. the fisherprice papasan. I have one I'm gonna sell, but I think you live too far away… (I'm in N. NV)
    9. probably… so do I!

  5. 1. What are your favorite TV shows? I want to start watching a series on Hulu (my favorite guilty pleasure- watching a show in bed on my laptop) and I need some new ideas!
SCRUBS, MAKE IT OR BREAK IT, CAKE BOSS, MY NAME IS EARL, WIPE OUT

    2. What is your favorite pregnancy lotion? My skin is itchy and Cocco Butter isn't helping.
HONESTLY BY THAT POINT I WAS USING HYDROCORTISONE BUT I HAVE BAD ALLERGIES AND ITCH A LOT

    3. How many weeks pregnant are you?
    NONE YET!

    4. Are you pregnant?
    NOT YET!

    5. What's your favorite station on Pandora? My current favorites this week are “Selah Radio” and “Glee.” Glee station has some really fun and upbeat songs, great for days when you're cleaning or need to wake up in the morning.
I'VE NEVER USED PANDORA. THOUGH I SHOULD I GUESS.

    6. Do you need a foot rub?
YES!!!!! AND MY HUBBY IS JUST LIKE YOURS!

    7. Do you think I'm a loser because I have an NSYNC station on my pandora?
    NAH!

    8. What is your favorite style of baby swing?
WE HAVE A TRAVEL ONE AND I LOVE THAT ITS PORTABLE, I CAN MOVE FROM ROOM TO ROOM AND IT DOESN'T TAKE UP A LOT OF SPACE.

    9. Do you think I need to go to bed now?
    YES AND ME TOO!

    10. Me too
    AMEN!

  6. 1) I watch The Bachelorette and Losing It with Jillian Michaels. Both days late on DVR. I'm reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels, and might want to do the True Blood series one day since the books are good.

    2) I loved Palmer's Cocoa Butter so much when I was pregnant, I still use it! It never helped my itchy belly either, though.

    3) Not pregnant

    4) Not pregnant

    5) I actually want to move our computer to the kitchen so I can listen to Pandora. I never get to since the computer's way down in the basement and when I'm on it, the boys are asleep so I try to be quiet. I'm stuck listening to the music channels on the TV and Logan always wants Jazz (ugh). Sometimes I veto him for 90s or Light Classical! πŸ™‚

    6) I ACHE for a foot rub on a daily basis. I get MAYBE two a year, and Hubby ALWAYS has ulterior motives.

    7) Not a loser, just misguided! πŸ™‚

    8) Ocean Wonders. The songs are really soothing.

    9) You ARE in bed now, I hope.

    10) πŸ™‚

  7. Great post!

    1. I don't really watch tv. I read and do puzzle books.

    2. I use Jergens when I have trouble but its never been an issue for me much.

    3. I am 22 weeks.

    4. YES!!!

    5. Don't know what Pandora is and I don't have a favorite channel. Sorry. Behind the times I guess.

    6. sometimes a foot rub would be nice.

    7. No, you're not a looser!

    8. I really like my Fischer-Price one that can be either a cradle swing or a traditional one. And it plugs into the wall. No batteries!!

    Have a great night!!

  8. 1. House, I DVR the reruns.

    2. I use Bio Oil, it absorbs quickly and doesn't feel greasy.

    3. 14 weeks

    4. Yes

    5. I regret to say I don't use Pandora, can't listen at work and too busy at home.

    6. Yes, all the time. My husband has been great so far!

    7. I still love NSYNC!

    8. I have no clue, just recently started checking out baby items.

  9. 2)I use Dove Cream Oil.

    3)28 weeks

    4)Most definitely!

    6) Every day! (And my husband usually obliges…as long as I give him a back rub. No problem!)

    7)Nope. πŸ™‚

    8) We had a portable one with Baby #3. He loved it. We loved it. Baby #4 cried every time we put him in it. We sold it.

  10. 1. I love Parenthood, Biggest Loser, and Dancing with the Stars. I also love How I met Your Mother!

    2. I use the 100% Cocoa butter which is hard and you have to heat up to use the first time, then sort of scrape it off. You can find it in health food stores or in some grocery stores. I like that because it's basically like smearing chocolate on my belly and I love chocolate. I alternate with Vitamin E Oil – Burts Bees makes one “Mama Bee?” that smells really nice – a little citrus smell so it's nice on the belly.

    3. I'm 25 weeks pregnant – due October 14 with our 4th boy (stepsons age 12 and 8, baby boy turns one next week)

    4. Yes, very excited to be too!

    5. I don't listen yet but want to start! Sounds like it's right up my alley.

    6. Yes I need foot rubs all the time. My husband is very compliant but we the way we have our sitting room arranged, I put my feet up when sitting on my chair on the arm rest to his sofa and then my feet are just right there for him to rub. I always make sure to have them fresh smelling and pay him back with back rubs from time to time, but I definitely end up the winner (no complaints!!).

    7. NO! I love that you do! πŸ™‚

    8. We have the Fisher Price Papasan one that I got hugely on sale for my son. I love it. I actually want another one (maybe a portable one) for downstairs now that we will have two babies 15 months apart. Swings are GREAT and having one upstairs isn't enough… need one so I can make dinner downstairs in those first months too. I covet this one I say on dirty diaper laundry but unless someone is doing a giveaway I'm gonna spend more like $50-70 on mine instead. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002GP76M2?ie=UTF8&tag=dirtydiapelau-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002GP76M2

    9. Yes, hope you did!

    10. πŸ™‚

  11. On the flip side of the tired coin, I have a 6 week old and I'm too lazy to go look at the 10 questions, so I'm running on memory:
-How I Met Your Mother, House, The West Wing, Friends, Arrested Development
    – Chicken Fried radio on Pandora
    – I like our Fisher Price Rainforest swing that swings both ways
    – That's it… Bye, bye, bye πŸ˜‰

  12. 1. TV- Bones, House, Eli Stone (cancelled, but AWESOME!), Drop Dead Diva (sweet!), Lie to Me, and anything Law and Orderish!

    2. Sorry all I used was cocoa butter but it didnt make me avoid stretch marks. shrug.

    3. 0

    4. no, but we may start trying soon. SHHH!-It's all your fault, you and all the rest of you talking about your pregnancies out there!

    5. I dont know what pandora is but I would guess something with country music would be my favorite.

    6. Yes I need a foot rub

    7. No, but you are most likely younger than me. It would be like me having NKOTB I would guess. It's for some, but not others.

    8. The free one we borrowed, it was a wind up-no batteries to replace.

    9. Yes.

    10. Okay.

  13. 1. I love Americas got talent, Lie to me, and I'm recently addicted to persons unknown, I am really into the food network. My faves on there is Next Food Network Star and Iron Chef America. I think Bobby Flay is adorable πŸ™‚

    2. I used coca butter but I hated the smell. I had very itchy skin but thankfully not many stretch marks. Most of mine are on my legs from where they were breech and all the weight was at the bottom.

    3. 0

    4. No but I've got baby fever BAD. Me and hubby keep going back and forth about having another. It started around the boys' birthdays last month. Now Gavin is starting preschool and soccer in the fall and Gage is starting to potty train. I've recently started getting rid of their baby stuff too which is making it worse!

    5. Sorry, I don't listen to Pandora. I might start now though!

    6. Yes, and hubby does NOT do massages… at all 😦

    7. No I love NSYNC and I really dislike the Backstreet boys too. Never have liked them!

    8. For some reason I've never had a baby swing. Guess I never needed one. Our old house was tiny and I didn't have much room for big baby items. If we have another I'd probably get one.

    9. Yes

  15. Great post, demand more foot rubs!

    1. TV shows are so unique to an individual that I do not want to give you advice and have you hate it but I will say it is only 8 bucks a month for netflix and they have thousands of movies and tv shows there, it is really a life saver when you are just at home for some reason without anything to do.

    2. Mama Bee Belly Butter by Burt's Bees worked wonders for me. Plus I loved the cute name.

    3. n/s

    4. no

    5. I like making my own or listening to ones based on my favorite artists…. I am betting they are totally different from yours, lol.

    6. Do you need a foot rub?

    7. No, to each their own. I do hate them with a fiery passion though.

    8. They never worked for my daughter. I just had to hold/rock/carry/wear her…. so I guess I AM my favorite type of baby swing. Go me!

    9. I sure do, but relief is nowhere is sight.

    10. Night!

  17. You deserve a foot massage every night until the baby is born! Just let your husband read this post. Hopefully he'll get the hint! πŸ˜‰

    1. What are your favorite TV shows? House, Grey's Anatomy, Glee, and American Idol.

    2. What is your favorite pregnancy lotion? I just used a dry skin lotion. Try Eucerin or Lubriderm. It's good for eczema, so it would probably help with your dry, itchy skin.

    3. How many weeks pregnant are you? 0

    4. Are you pregnant? No

    5. What's your favorite station on Pandora? Don't listen.

    6. Do you need a foot rub? Yes.

    9. Do you think I need to go to bed now? Yes. Sleep is good. Says the lady with insomnia.

  18. 1. I watch everything on Discovery Health, it's the only thing I watch!
    2. I sell 99% all natural lotions and body scrubs etc and made here in Colorado, I know the owners and they are truly great! It's really good stuff, my kids are allergic to the baby bottom creams and the baby powder, once I started using there stuff called Baby Bottoms Up, never seen a rash again! Including me and my children have really intense eczema, eczema BE GONE with there creams and massage bars!!! Thats when I was introduced into Lemongrass, here is the website
    http://www.ourlemongrassspa.com/teratonya
Everyone in my family uses it, including my husband!
I don't remember the order of the other questions, I have had 3 children and don't think my body could tolerate more, which honestly is fine with me. I despise anyone touching my feet, so no foot rubs for me! I borrowed a swing from my friend, it swings side to side and front and back by graco, I love it!

  19. I'm not pregnant or a mom, so I'll just answer the tv question! πŸ™‚
I love Grey's Anatomy, So you think you can dance?, Amazing Race and Desperate Housewives. I wouldn't recommend Greys or DH based on moral content, but I love the witty humor!
Oh, and I think you are totally deserving of foot rubs…good luck figuring out how to get more from your husband!
