8 Months Pregnant

Today I am eight months pregnant. Holy batman!

Here are a few pregnancy related updates:

Sleeping: It depends on the night. Lately I’ve been waking up every 2-3 hours to pee and switch to the other side and it’s very annoying. It’s funny how this works, because by the time you have a newborn here waking up every 2-3 hours wanting to eat, you’re already used to it!

Preparing for baby: Just when I think I don’t need anything I realize there are a few things I need to get. We haven’t done much to prepare, but trust me… once 36 weeks hit I will be into high gear mode!

Trying to take a picture of myself this morning while holding Lucas… unsuccessful.

Overall mood: I can’t really complain. I’ve felt pretty good this entire pregnancy. My back hurts often, but that’s about it. I’m also not too tired… of course some days I am more than others. But overall I’m doing well, but ready to not be pregnant anymore 🙂

Stretch marks: So far, none. Fingers crossed it stays that way, however I feel a couple small ones coming on. I’m not too concerned about it, with Lucas I got two small ones that faded and disappeared in several months so hopefully this one is the same!

Position of baby: I haven’t had an appointment in a couple weeks, but last time (and every time) my doctor says she can’t tell. I feel like this baby is sideways, which has me a little worried. I always feel kicks in my right side. I know I don’t have to worry yet about the position, but I do anyways.

I waited till hubby got home so he could take a picture… and he cut off my face. I think my favorite sweat pants are distracting him. Ha. They are SO baggy but SO comfortable!

Weight gain: Why does everyone want to know how much weight you’ve gained during pregnancy? I honestly have no idea. I haven’t looked at the scale once. I also (honestly) don’t care… at all. The number means absolutely nothing to me, because I know as soon as I’m not pregnant I will eventually get back to my “real” weight.

Boy or girl: As you know, we didn’t find out the sex. I didn’t have any “feelings” about it either way, but lately all signs have been pointing to boy. Several people have told me they have had boy dreams and last night, it happened to me. I had a dream we were having a boy! So we’ll see. I still need to get a few girly newborn things just in case! 🙂

The “the view from here.” I ask Lucas to touch my belly/baby and he does, so sweet! …. And then 5 minutes later he chucks a block at me. sigh.

If you’re pregnant and wrote a pregnancy update this week, I’d love for you to leave the link to your post in the comments section so I can come visit you!

  1. You look great! I love that picture of Lucas looking up at your belly 🙂

I can't believe we're almost at the end. I hear you on the ready to not be pregnant part…I'm exhausted!

  2. You look great! Your son is adorable too. I've been following your blog for a while but have never commented. I am 15 weeks pregnant and love seeing other ladies' pregnancy posts. I have a blog too – that no one really reads! I'm mainly blogging for myself though – if you're curious:

  3. You look great, and it sounds like things are going well! It's funny – you're 8 months pregnant, and my daughter is 8 months old. Funny how quickly things change – I feel like I was 8 months pregnant years ago, and then again, it feels like yesterday!

  4. Aw, what a cute belly! You are so lucky not to have stretch marks. I still have leftovers from my 1st and some new ones from this one (I'm 23 weeks).

  5. I love your belly so cute!! Mine is getting rounder by the second too! LOL! I actually am excited for your baby to be coming before mine. I can only imagine the fun Lucas will have then he can share advice with Ryan. I am think Girl….LOL…funny how when you have a boy you just think they all will be boys right? 🙂

  6. You're looking great!………
    I just hit 36 weeks…..and still not ready….lol…..
Funny how things happen later when it's not the first. It wasn't intentional, but there it is. Thankfully, we have most everything we need, but still need to get a new infant car seat……and a few other things….I'm hoping to get the rooms all finished within the next week or so.
We did find out boy/girl…..and you're welcome to guess on my blog….

  7. I so agree with you about the weight gain question! It's a silly question…and so personal too! I rarely keep track of my weight gain when I am pregnant (or otherwise). As long as I am eating healthfully and exercising regularly, there's no good reason to stress. 🙂

    P.S. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
