Frames up a Wall

My blog is not a decorating blog; that’s quite obvious. But when my mom (also my home decorating assistant)  was here a couple weeks ago, we did a little project that makes me smile so I had to share it with ya’ll.
I had a collection of random picture frames that I didn’t know where to put in my home. Some matched, but others did not. I don’t know why I didn’t do this earlier, but putting them all up the stair wall is so fun and adds a lot of personal character to my home.

The plan is to add pictures to this wall and eventually fill the wall all the way up and down with different colors and sizes of frames full of pictures! This took us less than an hour to put up (with a toddler helping us) and I had all of these frames on hand. So it was free and easy! I figure I’ll add a frame or two a month to this wall and I can’t wait to see it grow.
I love it! Happy Wednesday!

  1. Noelle ,

What we did was start with one big frame (the one on the very top left) and then go from there. We did measure or lay anything out before hand. I'm probably making it sound easier than it sounds.. my mom is the pro at this stuff! 🙂

  2. Hey- just popping in. I did something much like this with photos by my stairs and was given a tip that has saved us many frames and a lot of broken glass as my kids have gotten older (and now run down the stairs). Put a few squares of velcro behind each photo. The velcro won't hurt the wall but will keep a casual bump from knocking the frames off the wall.
    Enjoyed browsing your blog.
