35 Weeks

As I’m sitting here typing this, I’m eating chocolate ice cream in an orange Fiesta Wear bowl. I love ice cream, but I don’t eat it very often when I’m not with child.  But when I am with child, I eat whatever I want to eat. And tonight? I would like a bowl of chocolate ice cream, please.
And yes, it’s delicious. And the weight that I’m gaining will go away some time next year. I’m not worried about it. So, I don’t diet or think about the excess calories that I’m eating while pregnant. If you do, than you’re probably healthier than me. But you’re missing out on a whole lot of pregnancy chocolate sweet gooey deep fat fried  goodness…. so you might want to work on that.

(Just wanted to add that I also work out during pregnancy. Not a whole heck-of-a-lot, but I do. Okay, now I feel better!)

{Shhh…. I made this picture black and white because I think I look better in black n’ white.}

I sort of doubled in size over night. Isn’t it crazy how that happens? My belly button is starting to almost poke out and I (seriously, no sarcasm here) think it’s so cute! The rest of me not so much, but I like my belly button.

Somebody asked me if I was having twins today. That always makes you feel so tiny and cute! Next time someone ask me that question I’m going to say, Yep! Dorthy and Devin are growin’ real strong in there!!

AND I HAVE 5 MORE KIDS AT HOME, TOO!
My husband and I (and Lucas and baby) have an appointment on Tuesday at a birth center. At that point we should know what position the baby is in and if we’re going to go the birth center route.  I’ll give you an update soon on that situation. I’m so excited!
In conclusion and in bullet point form for your convenience:
  • I’m huge
  • I’m uncomfortable
  • I’m pretty certain I’m getting stretch marks
  • And I’m waddling
  • But I feel good
  • And I’m so excited to welcome this new baby into our family!!

  1. You are super cute! And…for the record, I think anyone who “insinuates” that a pregnant woman is big should be slapped. Twice. And then kicked in the shins. Both shins.

You are fabulously, adorably, enviably pregnant…and I'm your soul sister in pregnancy “diets”…if you can't eat whatevertheheck you want when you're pregnant then when do you get to?!

  2. I absolutely understand the black and white photo – in all honestly I think there are very few people out there who don't look better in black and white (I did see one girl in a commercial once who did look better in colour, but she would be the exception!) (oh and in New Zealand 'color' is spelled colour)

  3. Ok, those better not be regular pants your wearing! LOL Congrats on 35 weeks.. I just hit 32 myself. And I always complain about food and weight gain but really, I'll only care after I have the baby. 🙂 Hang in there!

  4. people looked at me before my second trimester was out and said I was going to have twins and 'are you sure about your due date'.. yeah. That's why I had a 7 lb preemie. Yes I'm still sure she was a preemie. She just was longways and HUGE and I'm.. well tiny (fat, but tiny).

    You go woman, you go!

  5. So excited for you! You are glowing my friend! And I love the baby bump, you are sticking straight out 🙂

My wedding ring doesn't fit on my finger anymore 😦 I hate this part of pregnancy, but I will have many years of wearing it, this is worth it!

Enjoy that ice cream, you deserve it Mama!

  6. You look beautiful Sam and that picture of Lucas and new baby (err..your belly) is just priceless.

I hope you get to use the birth center! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

  7. Girl! You look great.. and I am going to go on a limb here and say boy! You are only carrying him/her in your belly. When I was preggo with my little girl I spread out SOO much.. I mean I looked like I was having a baby in every limb 😉

Really though.. you look fab! Cant wait to “meet” the new little one
