Still Pregnant. 39 Weeks. Doing an Interpretive Dance

Today, in the midst of a wardrobe change between cute outing clothes and not as cute workout clothes, I ran downstairs and asked my husband to take a picture of me. You know, the 39 weeks I’m-just-about-to-explode-can’t-tie-my-shoes-face-is-fat-no-makeup-don’t-care- 39 week pregnant picture?
Yeah, that one.
Because I want to look back and remember what 39 weeks with baby #2 looks like.
{And how young I look. HA!}
Anyways, so I asked my husband to take a picture and he (nicely) (sort of) told me I looked ridiculous because I was wearing all black. Which, duh, he obviously didn’t understand that was the very reason I ran downstairs to ask him to take my picture that very moment. Because I was wearing all black and I’m 39 weeks pregnant and black is my friend. He told me I looked like I was about to do an interpretive dance. Whatever that means. I don’t know much about interpretive dance.

Then he made some references to the movie Fantasia. And I have no idea what he’s talking about.

However, I am totally into the idea of dancing right now. So if anyone wants to join me for some interpretive dancing Fantasia style… come on over.

There I am. 39 weeks. I think my butt looks big.

  1. I've been following for a little bit, but never commented before. I had to tell you this made me chuckle though! Only because I had my daughter take a picture of my (minus my head) because I wanted the belly picture only my face wasn't even close to being picture ready..lol…

    I'm 38 1/2 weeks & soooooo ready right now! I love seeing your tweets…they make me smile 🙂

    P.S. I don't think your butt looks big…lol

  2. You look fabulous! I just delivered my 2nd baby boy (15 months to the day after my first!) at 39 weeks on October 7. I already miss my belly so enjoy yours these last few days!

  3. You look amazing!! I just delivered baby girl #2 on Friday afternoon 🙂 Hopefully you'll have yours soon, I'm so anxious to hear if it's a boy or girl! Hope these last days are going well, praying for you!

  4. You look awesome! Had to write and tell you, I was reading your email and my 2 year old looked over and pointed at it and said, “Mama”. I am not pregnant, but I do wear a lot of black and my hair is blonde and short (plus his glasses weren't on) so I can kind of see the resemblance neck up! Anyways, I hope I look like you when I have my 2nd because with my first I was HUGE, you just look like you swallowed a basketball…way cute!

  5. You look cute! I love pregnant bellies… And tell your husband to be nice.. ON Fantasia there was a hippo doing dance, he might have been referencing that. but she was a cute hippo.

  6. You only look about 6 months pregnant, dear. My face got so fat, everything got so fat, even though I was barely eating enough to keep me alive. You are so lucky. Please don't say you look fat, if you're fat, then I was the goodyear blimp. So lucky, are you, for sure.

  7. Wow, you look so good! I'm only 27 weeks and I'm pretty sure my rear is bigger, LOL. So you're doing great. I also favor all black in pregnancy. hehe

    (And do all husbands take pictures looking down at their subject? hahahaha Mine did that recently – I need to remember to stand farther off…)

  8. oh hon, you are so small compared to me at 39 weeks with my second!! I bet you'll lose that belly immediately after birth. It took me 5 months to not look pregnant any more!
