That’s Right, Body After Baby is Back!

After high demand, I’m happy to announce that The Body After Baby Challenge is BAAAAAACK!! I was originally going to wait until the beginning of the new year to start Body After Baby. But, I figured, why not start now? There is no reason not too after all! Lord knows if there’s anytime when we need to focus on our health and weight loss goals, it’s during the yummy holiday food season!

Today is Monday. I’m suppose to be at the gym right now but my husband had to work late and I have a fussy newborn who doesn’t want me to leave. So… no workout for me today. I have come to the realization  that getting to the gym 5 days a week is probably not going to happen. SO I’m thinking about doing the 30 day shred and/or some weight lifting exercises  at home, in the morning (riiiiight) or during nap time.

I’m so excited to start this with ya’ll again! We need to come together for motivation, support and encouragement!

YOU GO GIRL!

Anyone can participate in Body After Baby. Please remember it is NOT just about losing weight. It’s really important to me that we actually don’t have the focus on losing weight and the number on the scale. Body After Baby is about SO MUCH more than that! It’s about being healthy, feeling good, being a positive role model for our children, having energy, being proud of our bodies and yes.. a little bit of looking good too. 🙂

We are going to get this started very soon, but first, I want to hear from you. This will help me know what works best for everyone so everyone can reach their full potential!

:: Do you prefer a set challenge- like a 6 or 8 week challenge or just a week-by-week thing?
:: Do you like the idea of doing before/after pictures again? Or not so much?
:: What is your biggest area of concern right now? Finding time to exercise? Feeling better about yourself? Losing weight? Gaining muscle? Having more energy?

Anything else? What can I do that will help you?

Something I want to start doing is including positive stories/ideas. If you have a success story, or even a question about weight loss/health, please email it to me and I will put it up! I know we all love a good positive story as motivation!

    I am happy to announce that I have since lost 50.6lbs.. 🙂

    But I will be cheering all of you on.. Starting is the most difficult part.. once you get into it, it is actually fairly easy!

  2. Yay! I am glad you are gonna start this up again. I noticed it in the past, but wasn't there at the start, so I just didn't participate. This time I totally am!!
    My biggest concern right now is loosing the weight and getting more energy! I am still about 65-80 pounds overweight (depending on who you ask). I really need to drop this weight as my youngest is already 15 months old!!
    I struggle with food choices and finding the motivation to work out. I have plenty of time/opportunity. My butt hits the computer chair and I can waste hours here (intermittent of course in between doing things for my little man).
    Can't wait to participate!

  3. Hi Sarah,

    I am no expert, but was in exactly that position myself – wasting time at the computer with no motivation!

    I just wanted to tell you that I found starting really small and building it up every week helped me with exercise. At first I cycled on my home exercise bike for ten minutes 5 days a week! Thats right, only ten minutes.

    Every Monday I increased it by one minute! Everybody laughed at me and said that I was never going to get there! I now cycle 45 minutes of intense cycling 5 days a week and have lost 50lbs.

    Find something you find fun and start small – 45 minutes of exercise is daunting when you are unfit and over-weight.. Start small and aim big! As your fitness increases, you will find it easy to increase your exercise programme!

  4. I am in. I won't be free to exercise for another 4 weeks due to my c-section delivery but I am watching what I eat, drinking lots of fluids, and nursing! Just watching portion size and snacking while I am nursing tends to help me loose some weight even without the physical part.

    But I am wanting to get back all the ground I had gained just before getting pregnant this time. So I am totally motivated to join in in any way I can.

  5. My baby was born 2.5 months ago. With my first baby, breastfeeding DID NOT help me lose weight at all, but with my other kids, the nursing made the weight go away pretty quickly. (Don't hate me.) I just had my fifth baby 2.5 months ago and I have about 7 pounds to go, but I really need to focus more on healthy eating and exercise. I love food and I hate exercising so I really need to get disciplined!

  6. I like the idea of a challenge!!
    And…Depending on what people think, I think we should do before/after pictures at the end of the challenge. We can all take our before picture now and then take a picture once a week, or at the end of 8 weeks and post the before and after together.

    I think that would be fun =)

  7. I'm in. I'm almost 6 weeks post baby but my weight has been the same since 2 weeks out (gained 30, lost 22 asap with no effort and my body likes the last 8 a lot!

    I like a challenge to make it through the holidays… Then a new years one too. With a 16 month old and a 6 week old – I have trouble making time to exercise. I want to fit well in my old clothes and losing weight after my older son was EZ and no effort as he was a preemie in the Nicu and I was one stressed out mom. Now I'm at a loss – want to lose weight slowly so my milk isn't affected… Want to stay sane too. I love my post partum body except that muffin top!

  8. I'm so glad you're doing this again, because it is finally time for me to get my body back. Or, rather, get in shape like I've never been before. I have a Y membership, but I'd also like to do the 30 day Shred. I'm thinking of starting December 1st for my own personal goal, but I am excited to join you too. I like the 8 week challenge – and definitely with pictures. Because what's more motivating than posting a picture of your post baby belly? My biggest thing right now is losing the baby weight from having two kids in two years…and I'd like to get into a workout routine so that, when we try for baby #3 I can be healthy and fit throughout my pregnancy making it easier to get rid of the baby weight after. Plus, with my history of asthma and allergies and always being sick, I need to be healthier for me AND for my family.
