Basically a Whole Lot of Christmas

Happy day after Thanksgiving! I hope yours was grand.

It snowed on Thanksgiving here.  It was gorgeous. I wanted to try and get a family picture for our Christmas card this year, but it didn’t happen. It’s hard with the cold temperatures and Joshua being so young. You can’t really tell from this picture, but Joshua is on me in the Moby.

How are you doing your Christmas card this year? Do you do one of the entire family or just the kids?

Did you go Black Friday shopping? We didn’t. I never have, actually. I know this year you could do most of your shopping online if you wanted to! I was looking online this afternoon at Kohls at some toys that I wish I would have bought. They were marked pretty low and if you used the 20% off code some toys were  a really good deal! When I went to buy them they were all sold out. That’ll teach me to get up early!
The Carter clothes at Fred Meyer were 60% off and I missed that by an hour. Oh well.
Did you get any great deals for you or your kids?
{Are you tired of the questions? I think they’re fun!}

This weekend we’re going to dig into storage and get out our Christmas decorations! (Assuming my husband doesn’t change his mind and I can convince him it’s time to decorate….) I am so excited. I love Christmas! I want to make decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving a family tradition. A full month of Christmas sounds fabulous to me!
When do you decorate for Christmas?
I need to put up a couple giveaways before Christmas, actually. Oh, and I’ve got some awesome people sponsoring items for our Body After Baby participants! Yee-to-the-haw!
Tonight we went downtown for a little Christmas celebration with a Santa and his reindeer. Apparently this is the only place that there are real reindeer. I didn’t get a picture, but you can imagine what real reindeer look like. Geeze, sometimes I feel like I live in the wilderness. Moose in my backyard and reindeer walking around downtown. Cool.
I so want to watch a Christmas movie! What is your favorite one? Any good ones that you think a busy anti-tv toddler boy would sit through? Oh add some hot coco and a lighted Christmas tree and you have perfection!!
Talk to me about your favorite Christmas movies.
I realize this posted has contained 53 different topics. I’m good at that aren’t I? I have thought about posting every thought/picture/question I have separately instead of combining it all into one post. That would probably be 1-2 post a day though, but I think it might be fun. Maybe I will try it.
Until then, friends.

  1. I don't think I'll be doing much at all in the way of decorating this year. I'm so tired… due January 15th. We've decided that this will probably be the last Christmas that we can get away with not doing any decorating, and I'm going to take full advantage of it.

  2. 1. we decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving too 🙂
    2. My favorite Christmas movie as a kid was “The Muppet Family Christmas”. Now its “The Family Stone”.
    3. I've never been black Friday shopping, but I love Cyber Monday shopping!
    4. yes, we do a christmas card picture. If I hire someone to do a nice family shot, we use that. If not, then I try to get a pic of just my kids. This year we are sending out family pictures.
    5. Did I answer them all??

  3. Your new one is soooo cute, my hubby says he looks like a cute harp seal with those big beautiful eyes…

Yes, I went black friday shopping. Got a treadmill. My hubby and older two put up some outdoor decorations yesterday, but today we are cleaning the basement to set up the treadmill I bought yesterday. We will wait until a week or two before Christmas to decorate.

My hubby says, “they have Black Friday shopping in Alaska?”

Well, I put up my blog post, answered some of your questions, listened to my hubby's silly comments, now it is time to get back down to clean the basement.

  4. My favorite Christmas movie is A Muppet's Christmas Carol. It is sooo good! Love the songs, the scenery, the acting, but it is a little scary in parts for LITTLE kids. I also like White Christmas.

  5. The snow looked beautiful and the last picture is precious! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
    1. Christmas cards are just pictures of the kids.
    2. I didn't go shopping until the evening on black friday. I've been shopping online, though.
    3. My entire house is decorated inside now. Still have to do the outside!
    4. Love Christmas movies. We have so many on DVD. The Polar Express, Claymation Christmas, Christmas Vacation…love them all!
