Body After Baby: 30 Day Challenges

I hope you all survived the holiday madness of sweets and treats.

I mastered those sweets, thank you very much.

I know we have a week or two left  (what week are we on- seriously- who’s keeping track?) of our 8 week challenge, and that’s fine, we can finish that. But I think I’m going to start a whole new thing for The Body After Baby challenge. I have been thinking about it and getting a lot of feedback from all of you on how I can make this challenge better and help you be more accountable to your goals.

On Tuesday I asked what 30 day challenge I should do and so many of you said that you would be interested in joining me. I think 30 day challenges are great because they are only 30 days. You can do anything for 30 days, right? This gives us a month to focus on something and helps break down our goals into smaller time frames.

I’m really excited about this new direction.

Introducing our first 30 day challenge of 2011.

January 7th- February 5th :: 30 Days :: The Shred DVD by Jillian Michaels 

{Let me be really honest here and get this out in the fresh air. I am fine with Jillian, but I’m really struggling to see how I’m going to survive seeing her every day of the week plus on Biggest Loser. Maybe I could memorize the routines so I don’t have to watch the video? Hmm. I can only handle so much of Jillian, you know? I like her but I don’t every day plus biggest loser like her.}

You can customize this to work for you. I most likely won’t be doing it for the entire 30 days  (are you suppose to do it 30 days in a row?) and I will probably add some other form of exercise with this as well. Either way, I plan to track down everything I’m doing and share my week with you. I hope you can learn from me too! I’m going to write down my 30 day goals/plan tonight on fun paper and put it on my fridge or bathroom mirror so I have a clear direction and plan.

  1. I'm no good at keeping up a blog, but want to do the 30 day Shred, too…in fact, I just bought it yesterday, so this couldn't have come at a better time!

  2. I have the 30 Day Shred too, but I can't commit to 30 days quite yet. Maybe in March after my BIL's wedding, because I have SO much going on between now and then. Plus, I have my Y membership too and I'm really loving Spin Class and Zumba.

  3. Oh that reminds me Harmony about the 5K I wanted to do in February. Hmmm I need to figure out when I can train for that! Good luck on your 5 miler! awesome!

  4. I have not decided if I will partake in the 30 day Shred challenge. I probably will but have not 100% committed to it.

  5. I don't have that DVD and can't get it, so I am doing a modified version of the 30day challenge. Check out my blog to see more detail. I am a little scared! Trying to get pumped up!!! Going to mark it on my calendar and put up some goals. Thanks for the motivation!

  6. I also am going to do a modified version of the 30 day challenge. I do have a biggest loser workout that I can do so I will do that one.
    So will we still have a weekly check in to see how we are doing and inspire each other?

  7. I was on the fence about doing the 30 day shred or not and on amazon happened to see it was only 7.99 a couple days ago and ordered it. It is to be delivered Saturday and then I'll get on board with the challenge!!

  8. I was trying to participate in the Body after Baby – but having this baby at the beg of december hindered me some. Then – I just had emergency gall bladder surgery and am having a harder time recovering from that than childbirth!! I will try to get in on the next 30 day challenge. Godd Luck to all!!

  9. Have you started it yet? What do you think?

    For the weights, you can easily use water bottles or canned veggies or something like that…unless you need more, no point in investing.
