We made a trip to Costco this evening. If you’re anything like me, you like to see what people buy at the grocery store, so here’s a run down of what we bought this trip. We bought more than we usually do, but we were out of so many things! Thankfully a lot of the things (peanut butter, cereal, garbage bags) will last a while. I reminded myself when I had a heart attack on the floor at Costco after seeing out total amount in dollars that we owed. GAH!
Spending too much money gives me the aches. I’m serious.
- Organic peanut butter
- Bread
- Deli meat
- Frosted shredded wheats
- Avocados
- Bananas
- Apples
- Grapes
- Macaroni and cheese
- Ritz crackers
- organic oatmeal
- Garbage bags
- Organic tomato soup
- Cheddar cheese
- Organic salad/spinach mix
- Chips
- Eggs
- Soup
- Tortillas
For dinner I ate Santa’s Reindeer. That was my husband’s idea to say that, so please don’t think I’m a mean mom. But, this is caribou which is, indeed, reindeer. It is so good. What a benefit of being a teacher! My husband’s students always give him meat and oh batman, this stuff is amazing. It’s got a spicy/cheese/jalepeno-y flavor and I just gobbled it up like a hamster.
And now I’m going to go do some P90X. Or eat chocolate. I haven’t decided which yet.
i like seeing what you bought. it helps me figure out what i need to get. and it reassures me to know that i'm not the only one who practically pees my pants and gets the shakes when i have to swipe that debit card for that astronomical amount at the checkstand. what organic peanut butter do you get? dentist said no more jif–too much sugar, which i didnt know. ha!! 🙂
last time we got JIF so this time I got to pick. 🙂 We got the organic kirkland creamy stuff because my husband hates the other organic stuff that you have to keep in fridge. He says it’s too hard to stir. haha 🙂
I love to see when people get great deals, especially!
I love does anybody care…lol I do! I Love Deals,I almost die from our total at Costco too!I gotta try those chips they look yummy.Plus I have Fiesta Wear..Love those Dishes!
I alwAys like seeing what people buy at the store! Makes me feel good about MY shopping trips too. We go through peanut butter like there's no tomorrow around here. My kids would easily eat a PB&J for breakfast, lunch and dinner if they could. I haven't tried the organic kind though- is it worth the extra cost? Other than the soup, your shopping trip looks just like mine would!
Your costco bill is probably nothing compared to ours! We have 4 mouths to feed! Wait until the wee one starts eating table food. Then watch your bill!
I agree with the last comment- my food bill has gone way up sine my second son started eating. We use coupons now but it's still high!
I wish we had a costco close by. Instead we have to wait until we go to the city. Ha-wait until you guys have a teenager…BIG bucks! 🙂
I cannot even imagine feeding two teenage boys. or middle school boys. AH! Next time I will do a price with everything we buy! 🙂
Courtney- the organic is nice because the ingredients are organic peanuts and that’s it.. and sometimes a little salt too. I will say, it’s not as good as JIF because thats’ what I’m used to. My husband hates that you have to keep it in the fridge, but that’s because it’s just natural peanuts and no HFC syrup to keep it good in the pantry. 🙂
It is more expensive, but… you win some and you lose some, you decided what you want to buy organic and what you don’t… some months we do, some months we don’t. 🙂
I was fun to see what other people buy during their shopping trips! The chips look great!
I love seeing what other people buy at Costco! I can't wait until they have blueberries again!!!
I often post my shopping trips on my blog! The other week I spent $2-something OOP on $50+ worth of groceries!
Here's the link to that shopping trip.

Love the costco trip post! it's always interesting to see new things like your chips. I hate the cost of Sam's (where we go) but like you I have just keep reminding myself that it will last awhile. Awhile being key my boys eat like monsters!
Your husband sounds funny! And I LOVE GROCERY SHOPPING STORIES. Makes me feel better about overspending 🙂
