Due to our full and busy day Saturday, and my absence from the house all day yesterday (I was at work) I woke up to a messy house. I couldn’t look at it any longer, so I declared a “stay home and clean” morning! I can’t believe it took me almost three hours to just tidy up the living room, sweep and mop the floors, wipe down the counters and put a few things away.
I guess this is why I try to do most things when the children are sleeping!
Thankfully I had a great helper with me!
I pay him by the minute.
Who says that quality time has to be spent playing with toys on the floor? We had a great time working together and you betcha there was learning involved.
Every good man needs to know how to properly clean a floor, no?
I actually involve Lucas in a lot of my chores. Things like putting clothes in the dryer, sweeping the floor, putting dirty clothes in the basket and wiping down the table are all fun for him. And, even though it takes twice as long for it to get done, he really does love it and I think it provides for some good learning opportunities.
Just a couple before and after picture so I can see what I have accomplished.
We need a new rug really bad. I’m still finishing up my wall gallery- I’ll show you when it’s finished. Once Joshua out grows that rain forest mobile lay down toy (very soon!) I’m getting rid of it. How come we have 50 million toys even though I just got rid of two garbage bags full last week? I need to hang up that iron decorative thing- or put it upstairs. Just do something with it. My table looks pretty boring without a cute decorative bowl on it or a fun runner or table cloth, but hello, I have a toddler in the house.
Now, nobody is allowed in the family room for the next four days. Mkay?
Cute pictures! We cleaned today too and I’m hoping for an hour of it staying that way. lol.
Glad you have a helper. I hope it stays clean. I don't have that kind of luck around here!
You did a great job! I let Anderson clean with me too! He will need to know things and I intend for him to learn early! :o) He like to put things into the dryer, take things to different rooms for me, and he likes to wipe things. :o) Melts my heart every time too!
We had one of those days today too! It was wonderful. Thankfully my daughter loves to help vaccuum and do the dishes. 🙂
Lucas used to HATE the vacuum. He was so scare of it, now he LOVES it.
you have the cutest little helper!
I only wish my apartment EVER looked as clean as you “before” pictures! *LOL*
You could put a flat bowl of dirt on your table and sow some grass, wheat or cress seeds and let Lucas water it every day – makes a cute decoration once the green starts comming, is exciting for a toddlers and a great learning experience
