3 weeks until summer vacation. We are SO EXCITED.

I am trying to decide about my summer employment. What do you think? Do I keep it the same at what I’m doing (20 hours/week- evening/weekends) or do I take advantage of the husband being at home to watch the boys and work more hours? Last year I worked full time (+)  which was nice for money, but I only had one child. And I wasn’t breastfeeding.

work more hours = save money, put towards vacations, house upgrades, oh, I could go on n’ on…
work less hours = enjoy the summer as a family. more “free time” for husband and I.

I’m thinking family time sounds more fun than working. 🙂

I had a Diet Coke tonight.

Okay, here’s how it went down.

I got a cookie at work….. ( can you please agree with me that cookies are not candy. They are in a separate section at the grocery store. They may fall into the same category like “sweets” or “junk food” but cookies are cookies and a box of milk duds is a box of milk duds. End. of. Story.) ….. so- that cookie at work. Darn good cookie it is. And I decided to try some Diet Coke.

Well. I took TWO DRINKS and it tasted like bad water.

So I threw the rest down the sink.

I know, I know. High fives all around.

It is SO AWESOME how many people I meet in Alaska that are from Oregon or have lived there for an amount of time. I totally love it and it makes me feel like I’m “home” all the time. There are tons, TONS! of duck and beaver fans. I probably meet at least five a day while I’m working. It’s so cool. It brings up great conversations and of course I always tell them if they are a duck fan we can’t be friends.

Just kidding. Sort of.

It’s cool though, to meet so many people from Oregon. It’s also raining here today which makes me miss that great state. I miss football. A whole heck of  a lot. There is nothing like a good football game and if it’s raining it’s perfection. I’m going to start crying. Must stop.

Everyone is asking me when we are going to have our next child, so I am here to make a public announcement.

Our plan is to wait until Joshua is around 2 years old before trying for #3. I think that’s what our plan is at least.  I should probably go get some birth control pills. Oh, dab dabnabit.

This is inappropriate so I apologize in advance if this offends you or if your opinion changes of me, but I was talking to my girlfriend the other day and I told her that I said to my husband, “if you get me pregnant right now, I’m going to shit a brick and then throw it at you.”

(Please keep comments to yourself.)

(I can already hear them. I know I’m losing a reader over this. Sorry guys. Just keepin’ it real here.)

Hope ya’ll have a great weekend!

  1. We could be great friends because I am totally a Beaver fan, too! Lol, I love what you said to your husband! I basically said that to mine and then a month or so later I was staring in disbelief at two pink lines! This is my third one, so I told my hubby he could get snipped or move out. His choice. 🙂

I love your blog by the way. I am totally digging all the healthy and running talk, so keep it up. You are very inspiring. I plan to get back to running as soon as I am able after this baby comes so I appreciate all the tips and motivation from you.

  2. This cracks me up. Why would you lose a reader over that comment? You can have kids whenever you want, and the spacing of them is no one's business but yours, just as an FYI I had an IUD and it was very carefree to use–doctor put it in, didn't hurt–doctor took it out, didn't hurt. Didn't take hardly any time at all to get pregnant after that (copper one, not mirena)– and I didnt' have to remember anything every day. I had never known anyone that had one, but it made a lot of sense for us.

  3. Hugs on the slight homesickness.

If you are feeling led to stay home with your husband and boys this summer do it & don't regret it! You will always have the memories of when they were small& you did XYZ with them “that summer you didn't work like crazy”.

As far as not having another baby yet–at least you're willing to try someday. I told DH he is getting the big V before he touches me after this baby is born AND I plan to either have my tubes tied or use some form of birth control myself! I do not EVER want to get pregnant again. (long story, there is currently a Diaperswappers post about it if you want to read) Anyway, more power to you–do what is right for your family & don't let haters bother you!

  4. I'm laughing SO hard!!! I have 3 aged 3 and under and life is INSANE. I'd like one more child but not for a few years. I can't take any hormonal bc so we shall see….

  5. Keep on keeping it real!!! 😀
Brady is 28 months, Ethan is 3 weeks. If I get pregnant again I am going be throwing that brick with you!
I'm so scared that I think I'll go back on the pill and make him wear a condom just in case!!
