Alaskan summers are sooooo awesome.
These pictures were taken with my (broken screen- I need to get that fixed!) iphone, so it’s not great quality. But, you can still get the idea how bright & light it is! All these pictures were taken between 10:00-10:15pm.
It’s pretty much light all day long. This is only my 2nd summer here, but I know starting in May we gain about 5 minutes (Alaskans- back me up here?) of day light a day! It’s so crazy. In June, the sun never really goes down. I think technically it’s the sun is down between 2-4am or something like that, but it never really gets dark.
We have curtains (or, um, really high class blankets) covering our windows so it’s dark in our bedrooms.
I personally love it! I can seriously go for a run at 10pm if I want, or you can go hiking and be out until 11:30 and you get down and you’re like, “ it’s time to go to bed??” You feel like it’s early in the afternoon when it’s really evening.
