Not Made for the Heat

Lucas loves the girls that live in our neighborhood. They love him, too. They are 5 and 3 years old and apparently don’t nap (normal, I guess) because around 2pm every day they come to our backyard and look for Lucas. I tell them Lucas is napping. We will come out and play when he wakes up.
What a flirt.
How YOU doin’ girls?

That’s not me there on the right.  Sweet thought, guys. I don’t have legs like that anymore. And I stopped wearing shirts that were too short in the 3rd grade. Actually, not true. Some of my shirts are too short. I need to go shopping.

This morning, we went to the park at one of the elementary school’s here. I’m so bummed that school will be starting again soon and we won’t be able to enjoy this playground as much, because it’s one of our favorites! It’s close to our house, has a great play structure and has a huge fenced in field.

I spy: Lucas running up the hill!

Go! Go! Go!

The view from the top is pretty awesome –

With a better camera it would be even better. I think it looks prettier in the winter too. I love white mountains!

It is just peeeerfect here today. About 70 degrees or so. For me, that is as hot as I like it. I am NOT a hot weather person. I consider 60 degrees to be warm. Anything above 70 is too much. I much prefer the cold over the heat any day. I could never ever live in a place like Florida where it’s super hot all the time. I would be a mess.

Do you like the heat or the cold better? What is your idea temperature? I think if I could choose I would have it be 65 degrees half the year and 35 degrees the other half (for winter activities.)

Being in the sun really tires us all out. I put sunscreen on all our faces, but Lucas still got a little red. A lot of people here don’t put sunscreen on their kids at all because there isn’t a whole lot of sun, so they want them to get as much vitamin D as possible. Sometimes I don’t put sunscreen on them either. Just depends on how long we’re going out and how “strong” I feel the sun is or whatever.

Fresh fruit are my kids favorites. He doesn’t eat the carrots, but I give them to him anyways.

I enjoyed a bowl of strawberries and raspberries myself. mmm yummy!!

Now my little loves are napping and I’m off to finish the episode of Pretty Little Liars and do some studying.

Please tell me I’m not the only adult who watches that show? Please?

  1. I personally am not a fan of heat. I love in southern Manitoba, Canada and it can get quite hot out here. 30 degrees Celsius(86 Fahrenheit) is quite common during the summer. The heat makes me extra thankful for my air conditioned home! I would prefer it to be around 20 degrees Celsius(68 Fahrenheit).
The pic of the snack looks really yummy-I would eat the carrots if someone would go through all of the trouble of washing the fruit and cutting it up for me! hehe!

  2. You're neighbourhood looks gorgeous, such open spaces!

I see Joshua has made an improvement in the sleeping department, I'd love to see a post on how that all played out, we are still having issues with Cody and them being the same age I could do with some tips!

  3. What makes you think Joshua has made an improvement in the sleep department? Ha, I'm kidding. 🙂

I will write about it more, sure!! If I can get them to nap at the same time, that is ideal of course. Usually we go out in the mornings so he won't nap and then I put both of them to sleep at the same time.

At night…. eh, it's about the same. Up quite a bit. 🙂
