Gym & Massage

It’s raining here again, so instead of going to the park and for a hike with friends, I went to the gym instead. Lucas is doing so good in there! He loves it. I remember this time last year when I couldn’t leave at all without him screaming. It’s bitter sweet to see him playing so well with his friends. He is sure growing up!
Can you spot him? It was really busy in here because of the weather. Imagine when it’s 15 degrees outside!
My workout:
20 dead lifts to upright row
20 walking lunges- no weight
10 push ups
20 lat pull down
20 squats with 17pound kettle ball
20 bicep curls
I did that 3 times through.
Then, I headed to my chiropractor appointment, which included a one hour massage.

Am I the only one who doesn’t love professional massages? I mean, don’t get me wrong, it did feel good and I was very relaxed, but I don’t think I would pay money for one on a regular basis. I was done after 30 minutes. I have a hard time laying still for an hour unless I’m sleeping!

The masseuse mentioned that my right side was much tighter than my left. She said this is probably because I tend to carry my kids on my left him (since I’m right handed and that’s more comfortalbe for me) and in doing so, my right side pulls to try and find a balance. Makes sense, I guess.
We’ll see how I feel the next following weeks!

{I go to Gray Chiropractic Health Clinic in Anchorage. It’s a family owned business and the husband and wife are the primary chiropractors, which I really love. For all my friends back home in Oregon, I love the Synergea Chiropractic Center. I know a couple of the ladies that work there and they are amazing. I would personally recommend both of these places! If you go, let them know I sent you!}

I’m off to put away laundry because no one else is doing it for me! As soon as Lucas wakes up, his afternoon lesson will be about laundry and putting away his own clothes. I see no reason why he shouldn’t start this chore early. He already does it when I ask him too, but I would like to make it more of a regular thing.  Plus, this would give me another reason to go to Target and buy some more stickers or $ toys — reward/chore chart! Yes!

  1. I can not believe the toy room at your gym!! If there was a gym with a toy room like that where I live, I would for sure have a membership!
Both my kiddos help put laundry away-they have been helping me since they were 2 years old. I make it into a game with races and they have no idea they are doing work-ha!

  2. That's funny… I'm right-handed and I tend to carry my children on my right. Maybe because I'm stronger on my right side??? My two year old loves helping with chores- unloading the dishwasher, putting away laundry, putting away toys, etc.- but she has her older sisters example to follow.

  3. this is only half of it! The other side has a baby area and a little fort/slide.play structure thing. The other gym I go to on the other side has a HUGE play structure (like the type you see in McDonalds.) It is the biggest one in Anchorage!
