Lucas & Mommy Date

I had a little date with my first born today!

First, we went to the library.

I pretty much love our library. They have an awesome section for kids. Lucas isn’t really into yet, he just wants to run around. We looked at the books for a few minutes, and then it was back outside.

(I forgot to comb his hair this morning.)

The library was having a little music thing going on.

A band (was it a band?) called Fiddle Dee De was there to play music for the kids. All the kids really loved it! I couldn’t believe how many people were there. I guess they do stuff like this a lot. I’m bummed that this was only our first time going! They had little instruments for the kids to play with and sang silly songs that are sort-of annoying but also have this good beat so you find yourself humming and clapping along to the beat of it, even if your child happens to be running off in the other direction trying to steal someone’s Cheetos…….

Not that I’m speaking from experience or anything.

Lucas, where are you going?

The children are over there.

After the music, we went to Middle Way Cafe for lunch.

It’s one of my favorite places. Everything is soooo yummy and healthy!

(Also very expensive. But I don’t talk about money on dates. I guess it turns men off or something.)

We split a smoothie and Lucas got a strawberry muffin. He loves muffins! And smoothies!

I’d say he was pretty good company. He said thank you and helped me clear the table.

We had fun. I hope he takes me out again! 😉

  1. Oh how fun! I like to take turns taking each of my boys places with me without their siblings as well. I think the bonding time is important. Love the post!

And I can't believe he was wearing long sleeves! We're melting down here in Arkansas 🙂
