My Favorite Workout Songs of the Week

You know you really need to go for a run when work calls  as you’re heading out the door and ask you if you can come in for a couple hours. Even though the responsible thing would have been to go in and add a few more hours to my paycheck, I knew it would also mean I wouldn’t be able to get my run in with my friend. Which, by the way, was already planned, and work called and said “can you come in now?” As I said to my husband, I need this run more than I need to work right now!!

Earlier in the day, I headed to the gym and did a hodgepodge of weights. Then, a bit later, I met up with my friend for a 4 mile run. It was a beauty!

Me after my run and Joshua after his dinner — bibs are overrated and showers follow dinner. No biggie. He doesn’t really look ready for this picture, ha, sorry babe!

Now, on to the topic of music.

I generally listen to music while I work out. At the gym, I don’t like to talk to people, so I always have my headphones in. I don’t go to chat and make friends. I usually stare at the ground/weights or off into the distance, or at myself if I’m lifting in front of a mirror. I don’t never make contact with anyone. (Gosh I sound mean!) I just like to get in and get out!

I tend to find a few songs that I love and listen to them over and over and over (and over) again until I’m sick of them. I have a new favorite every week! Even though my ipod has roughly 25 songs on it, I still listen to the same ones over – oh, I already said this, sorry- and over again.

Here are my current favorite songs to exercise to: (this week) 🙂

Bombshel- Fight Like a Girl:

Bruno Mars- Runaway Baby: (Great tempo for running)

Taylor Swift- Jump Then Fall:

David Crowder- No One Like You:

Florence + The Machine – Dog Days Are Over: (Don’t mind this video – it’s a little strange, but it’s another great running song.)

Your turn!

What are your favorite workout songs? I’m always looking for new ones!

  1. Just wanted to comment on Bomshel. First of all WE LOVE THEM!
Secondly, we saw a mass concert one day, Bomshel (old bomshel with buffy) were there and Kelly Shepard was there separately.

They met at that concert that day in MI and Kelly came in and took buffy's place. It was really cool to be at the show which Kristy met Kelly!!

They are the BEST concert you'll ever see too. Kristy gets up on speakers and climbs all over the place and she's one hell of a fiddle player!!

    All Done!!
