You know you really need to go for a run when work calls as you’re heading out the door and ask you if you can come in for a couple hours. Even though the responsible thing would have been to go in and add a few more hours to my paycheck, I knew it would also mean I wouldn’t be able to get my run in with my friend. Which, by the way, was already planned, and work called and said “can you come in now?” As I said to my husband, I need this run more than I need to work right now!!
Earlier in the day, I headed to the gym and did a hodgepodge of weights. Then, a bit later, I met up with my friend for a 4 mile run. It was a beauty!
Me after my run and Joshua after his dinner — bibs are overrated and showers follow dinner. No biggie. He doesn’t really look ready for this picture, ha, sorry babe!
Now, on to the topic of music.
I generally listen to music while I work out. At the gym, I don’t like to talk to people, so I always have my headphones in. I don’t go to chat and make friends. I usually stare at the ground/weights or off into the distance, or at myself if I’m lifting in front of a mirror. I don’t never make contact with anyone. (Gosh I sound mean!) I just like to get in and get out!
I tend to find a few songs that I love and listen to them over and over and over (and over) again until I’m sick of them. I have a new favorite every week! Even though my ipod has roughly 25 songs on it, I still listen to the same ones over – oh, I already said this, sorry- and over again.
Here are my current favorite songs to exercise to: (this week) 🙂
Bombshel- Fight Like a Girl:
Bruno Mars- Runaway Baby: (Great tempo for running)
Taylor Swift- Jump Then Fall:
David Crowder- No One Like You:
Florence + The Machine – Dog Days Are Over: (Don’t mind this video – it’s a little strange, but it’s another great running song.)
What are your favorite workout songs? I’m always looking for new ones!
