New Bike Trailer!

We got a new bike trailer! I’m so excited.

Target had them for 75% off, so it ended up being only $45 for a double Shwinn bike trailer.

First, we had to get new helmets for the boys. We went to four different places and ended up buying them at Sports Authority. The only small one at Target was of Winnie The Pooh and I can’t do that. Honestly, what is up with every child helment having some sort of character on it? I did find some nice ones that were pretty simple in color, but they were $40 each.  Come on!
The two helmets together cost more than the bike trailer. Ha. Except, not really funny.
Joshua didn’t like the helment.  It is a tiny big for him, but it was the smallest they have, so I think it’s okay. He will grow it to it, too, and I also think it’s better than nothing. Lucas didn’t mind his helment at all!  He did great. He has been talking about bike riding for a long time and we’ve always told him that when you ride bikes you wear a helment. Every time he sees someone riding a bike, he will mention if they’re wearing one or not. So the excitement of wearing his own helment has been building up for quite a while. He loved wearing it.
Weeeee! Look at the little flag! Isn’t that cute? I feel like such a MOM!
Joshua fell asleep for about 30 minutes,  it was close to his nap time anyways. Lucas was almost asleep too, but he was waiting for a stop…
.. for a “special treat,” of course!

  1. It never would have occurred to me to put a helmet on a kid in a bike trailer. Interesting. We don't have one, and probably won't ever, because we live on gravel and there's no real way to even pedal up our hill, but still… wouldn't even have crossed my mind. hmm… oh well. 🙂

  2. That is awesome!

I think it's so great you have your kids in helments, too, way to go mama. not enough people do it these days. safety first!

  3. Jessica, yes! 75% off! There were like 15 left when we went this morning!

Jill, yes our kids will wear helmets in the trailer. From everyone I've ever talked to, who works in bike stores and stuff, they all say kids should wear one. I guess because a car could hit them, or in case you fall over?? Not sure really….. good habit to get in too also, I guess!

  4. Awesome, what a fabulous deal! I wish we had bikes and a bike trailer!, Dylan would love that!! Funny you mentioned the flag in that one photo because that was the first thing I noticed and though “what a cool flag!” 🙂

  5. What a great deal!! I came across your blog and excited to see a mom with 2 boys just like me! Mine are 16 months apart. So neat that you live in Alaska. Our neighbor has a son that lives in Anchorage.

  6. That's great. We purchased a used one from a mom that I know for $35. It was a Trek from several years ago, but it was manufactured by chariot which is such a great name that I had to buy it.

My husband took our son for a ride while I ran for an hour. He got cranky near the end, but the temperature was definitely creeping up.

    Have fun!
