Dirty Dancing and Other Movies I Haven’t Seen

This weekend, I watched the movie Dirty Dancing. Apparently I had never seen it before?! I know, I know. It’s bad. My husband is like, you haven’t seen Dirty Dancing before??!!

As if I have never drank water or ate sour cream and onion potato chips or something.

I live a sheltered life of romantic predictable bad acting comedies, what can I say?

Thank goodness my husband googled “top 10 movies that lead to sex” otherwise we would have never seen it listed as the #1 and thus, I might not have ever seen it! (Seriously. Stop laughing.) If I would have known to pull my pants up to my belly button and wear blue eye shadow to put off a vibe!

Is it the mullet, the tuxedo with the white shirt buttoned down, those arms, the way he can move his hips like that? (It’s so good it’s sort of freaky.) Juuuuuust wondering. I will not ask anymore questions.

Talk about a good movie. I really liked it and I loved the music. I just bought the soundtrack!

So – I am making a list of all the movies that I need to see. I know there are tons of classical movies that I haven’t seen. Help me out here! What movies should I add to my list?!

  1. I've never seen it either. I've never seen any of the classic 80's movies. I just went and saw the new Footloose and now I need to watch the original for the first time. Add that to your list.

  2. Have you seen When Harry Met Sally? That's a great classic movie. Sixteen Candles and Breakfast Club are great too.

  3. I've not seen any of those movies (Footloose, When Harry Met Sally, Breakfast Club) and I get the wow factor when I mention I haven't seen them either. Dirty Dancing came out before I was born but I absolutely LOVE this movie. I put it as one of my all time favorites. Along with Steel Magnolias. FAVORITES!

  4. Crazy, Stupid Love (a new movie – one that I liked) has a reference to Dirty Dancing that made me want to watch it again.. .but haven't yet. I don't know that I've ever watched it straight through before so it's about time!
My favorite old ones are mostly comedies: Caddy Shack, Trains, Planes, and Automobiles (which is the less vulgar inspiration for Due Date), and Joe Versus the Volcano. Have fun movie-watching!
