We aren’t celebrating Mothers Day today, we’re going to celebrate it in a couple weeks instead. Thomas is so busy with work right now, it’s the end of the year and report cards are almost due. I am working every night plus some on the weekends so we are just SO busy right now. Only one more week until summer vacation!!!

So we aren’t doing anything super exciting today and that’s okay. I know they will make it up to me in a couple weeks. (Or at least they will now….;) )  We went to Costco today and I asked Lucas to pick me out some flowers. He picked out pink tulips. 🙂

Then we went swimming!

It was the first time I took both of them by myself, so I was a little nervous about what might happen. Usually my husband and I tag team it so one of us can watch each kid. Neither one of them can swim 100% on their own yet so it makes me really nervous.

I was SO impressed with them today. They both did so good. I seriously thought it was going to be a recipe for disaster and I just kept thinking of all the bad things that could happen. Joshua would just want to run around, he might fall on the wet pavement, they would both be throwing a fit and I would have to drag them both into the locker room, one of them would nearly drown…. but none of those things happen. We were swimming for an hour! Lucas did his best I’ve seen. We brought a few toys which REALLY helped. I don’t know why we haven’t thought of this earlier. Joshua played with an empty yogurt container the entire time, just sitting on the step area dumping water in and out. And Lucas had a little ball that I would throw and he would swim across on his tip toes and get it.

Ah I love my babies. They amaze me every day. They teach me that most of the time I make a bigger deal about things in my head then they really are. We just need to try things and go for it and see what happens. Some days will be more rock star material than others, but we are out there experimenting and learning.

They also teach me that if you have food in front of you, life is pretty darn good.

A good swim before nap means a good nap time, too!

In the locker room a mom told me Happy Mothers Day. She was so sweet. She’s the first person besides my mom to tell me happy mothers day today and it’s 1:10pm. haha I felt so special. She told me we gotta put in the effort if we want the result, referring to we have to make our kids exhausted in the morning with a fun activity if we want them to take a good nap and that’s absolutely true!

Oh! The main reason I am blogging today is because I wanted to tell you, Happy Mother’s Day! To me, to you, to my mom, to my grandma and mom- in-law, to all the moms out there… I want you to know that you are good enough. You kick ass, every day.

Here are some pictures taken in the last couple weeks!
