Starting Preschool

I suppose that, when you have two active children, including one who very rarely naps and the other who hasn’t been sleeping as well as hoped, it makes you very grateful for those days when both kids are napping. At the same time.

Thank you babies, thank you. I really needed some quiet in my house today. It feels (sounds?) so good.
I, of course, am not being the least bit productive during this two hour kid free window, and I am totally okay with that. In fact, I don’t even have plans to be productive during nap time. Because it is such a rare occasion (them both napping at the same time), when it does happen, I take full advantage of it and enjoy it. Sometimes I just sit on my couch for a while and listen to my quiet house. I read, I think, I pray, I nap, I stare at my super neat walls… anything awesome like that is pretty much amazing.
I took a little nap today, and am doing some reading and programming for work. I had some soft music on but it was too loud so I turned it off completely.
Just very very thankful for naps today.
My sweet Lucas had his first day of Preschool today! Well, technically his first official day is later this week, for today it was a shorter day and parents got to go with! I’m a little bummed because he wouldn’t let me take a picture in front of the school, or even at home. I didn’t bring my nice camera with me, so I only took a few pictures of him playing with my phone. Oh well, I’ll take the good camera later this week and try to take another picture of him in front of the school. I really am counting that as his first day. 🙂

He did really good. It was very organized, but also a lot of stuff happening in just the hour. I was exhausted after it! We met his teachers together, showed him where he hangs his bag and coat, saw the classrooms, did an art project…. wow, these are busy mornings for 3 year olds!

Think these busy mornings are going to get me a nap?? 😉
