When you Don’t Know Where to Start

Do you ever feel like things are too overwhelming?

Have you decided upon a goal for yourself, and then sat there blankly because you can’t process it in a way that makes sense?

You probably have. I am doing it now. It’s so frustrating, isn’t it?

I think sometimes – probably more than sometimes, probably quiet a lot – we make things overcomplicated. We worry about the smallest of details, as if they need to be figured out to a “t” before we can start our plan to success. Perhaps we overanalyze things. Over think.

One choice, no matter the depths of it, can push you into a direction that ultimately is up to you. I love that when it’s get down to the bare bones of things, it really is just about making a choice. Day after day making a choice that will ultimately propel you in the right direction.

So today, if you don’t know where to start in your journey, may I encourage you to just…. start? To pray or meditate or whatever you choose to do and then move forward on it. To think of it in terms of choices and actions rather than big lofty plans and decisions that you must make.

Start slowly, if you need. Don’t let the yourself get buried under the pressure or the unmarked plans. Decide what you need to do to get there and then piece by piece – choice by choice- allow yourself to move in the right direction. Make a different choice than last time, choose something smarter, move more positively.

Just start.
