What I’m Reading / January

Gather around fellow book lovers!  Wanna be book lovers, join the circle. This is part one in a post every month (at least) that I’m going to devote just to the magnificent land of books. I have to mention the last two books I’ve read: Gone girl and The Fault in Our Stars. Both were excellent, finished in two days I can’t empty the dishwasher because I have to read the next chapter type of book. The movie following The Fault in Our Stars was also so good that I had to buy it and watch it more than once and cry into my pitiful hands because life is officially lover.  I’m dying to see Gone girl! That book was crazy intense weird. So if you haven’t read either one of those books, GO!  Put life on hold, sit down and absorb yourself into these stories.

Welcome to January’s edition of  “what I’m reading” series.  I’ll share what I plan on reading (goal) and will follow up with thoughts/a short review at the end of the month. I have so many books in my “to read” list, hopefully this will help me get through them and also pass on some great reading ideas to you!

So here we go – first book I’m reading is Miss Peregrines home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. It looks interesting and maybe a little odd. It was given to me as a gift with high recommendations; a sequel follows this book.

Second on my list is Nicholas Spark book – The Best of Me. I’m sure I will buzz through this, then I plan on watching the movie afterwards. 🙂

If I get to it this month I want to read The Maze Runner. Although I”m not sure I will like it I’m going to give it a try. My husband read most of it on Christmas Day and is already on to the second book in the series. There is also a movie based on these books as well!

And here are the chapter books we’re currently reading to our kids. These books will maybe last us 1 -2 weeks and then we’ll check out similar books at the library.

My kindergartner is loving the Ready Freddy books. The stories are cute and easy to follow along. We’re slowly working our way through the The Magic Treehouse series; sometimes those hold their attention, other times they aren’t interested.

And why I’m at it I have to tell you about Bumblee Boy and Ladybug Girl — cutest books EVER!! Those Ladybug Girl books…. my goodness, I just die over them.

So that’s my reading plan this month! Please tell me, have you read any good books lately?!
