Deep Breath

Just take a deep breath my friend.

I know the weight of the world is weighing on you right now. I know you feel the pressure from your co – workers and other family members. I know you feel the expectations of your partner. I know you feel the desire of your kids.

I know it’s a lot. I understand.

I know you want to find that space for yourself but you’re wondering just how to make it happen. How can you do all that you want for yourself while you’ll also living for everyone else? How can you help your loved ones find their way when sometimes you feel lost yourself?

Take a deep breath. This is a season, remember. You may be in the trenches but tomorrow you may be lifted up. Find your space — wherever it is and in whatever way it looks like. Find your corner. Find little ways to invest in yourself and make yourself a safe home. Get lost somewhere so you can find yourself. Get lost in your basic surroundings so you can see possibilities of re-inventing yourself.

Take a deep breath. Listen to guided meditation and allow those words to sink into your soul. (Insight timer – free app. Thousands of meditations to listen to – tons on self love, grief, sleep, etc.) Look at yourself in the mirror and just stare. Stare into those crazy awesome eyes of yours and speak light and love into yourself. Remember no one else can save you, but you.

Take a deep breath and remind yourself that YOU are your own superhero. This means that YOU have the power within to reach out and get help where you need it – a friend, a therapist, a trainer, a coach, a chef, a maid, a phone call, a service — you hold that power from within so its  up to you to take it and run. You hold the power to make the investments needed in your life, to show up for yourself when others won’t, to put yourself ahead when others can’t see it.  The power is – and always will be – in your hands. In your control.

Take a deep breath. When you inhale, allow grace and love to weep deep inside your bones, all the crevices and spaces you hold, your soul. Just let that manifest there for a bit. When you exhale, let hard work and power come out of you. Take it all in breath after breath.

Take a deep breath and speak those words to yourself over and over again a hundred times until you start to believe it. You are capable. You are deserving. You are worthy. You are strong. You are beautiful. You are courageous.
